Moravian-Silesian region is situated in the easternmost part of the Czech Republic and is in the west, east and partly south bordered by mountains. On the western border of the region's it is Hrubý Jeseník with the highest mountain Praděd, in the southeast and east at the border with Slovakia and Poland it is Beskydy mountains, the highest peaks if which are Lysá hora and Radhošť. Visitors to the region will find many beautiful natural beauties - PLA Jeseníky, PLA Beskydy, PLA Poodří and lots of historical sites, including ruins Hukvaldy, Starý Jičín, Sovinec and Ostrava Castle. Especially in the area of Beskydy mountains you meet the specific culture and folklore from the times the Wallachian colonization. The unique example of folk architecture in the open-air museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm or the town Štamberk, the dominate feature of which is the Štramberk Trúba. Important administrative centers are the cities Ostrava, Opava, Karviná, Frýdek Místek.
